Pastor Ann

Ann Walsvik began her first call as Pastor at Redeemer in July of 2015.  She lives in Rio and has two sons, Orrie and Luke.

Participation in a church community has been a vital faith formation experience throughout Ann's life.    She was involved in leading small groups, children's choirs, church council, development of faith formation programs and worship leadership.  Eventually, Ann was led into deeper engagement with God's word through prayer, reflection and retreats of silence and solitude.   Journeying with other mentors, Ann discerned a greater awareness of the light of God within and God's call into ordained ministry.  This led to lay school class attendance and a full time position as Director of Ministries at New Life Church in Madison, WI and eventually seminary education at Wartburg Theological Seminary to be completed in the spring of 2015.

Walking with others on their own faith journey with God is the greatest of joys for Ann.   These joys come as people realize God's delight in who they are and who they are becoming as children of God.  Each new insight leading to further adventures of faith as God calls each forth into wholeness.

Ann enjoys walking, spending time in national and state parks either hiking or camping, biking, reading, journaling, lunch with her son Orrie, playing ping pong with Luke and visiting with friends.

Kim Vangen

My name is Kim Vangen. I am the new Administrative Assistant here at Redeemer Lutheran Church. That handsome man next to me,is my wonderful husband, Jon! We live here, in the great community of Rio and have 4 children.  His and Hers!! Alyssa (15), Kaylee (10), Adrian (9) and Ashton (8). They keep us PLENTY busy with baseball, basketball, their sibling rivalry, and their love!  Although, they keep us busy I am truly blessed by God to have brought our family together.

I became a “Christian” in 2014. I ran from God off and on for several years. Then one day, He caught up to me.  I’m pretty sure His words were “GOTCHA!”  I do believe God has a sense of humor.  He continuously blesses me every day. I wanted a change in my career and I prayed, that God would lead me in a new direction and place me where I am needed as he saw fit. He answered my prayers and placed me here at Redeemer Lutheran Church. I LOVE it here! Everyone has been so welcoming and kind.  But as fellow children of God, I have learned to not expect anything less!!

April Severson

I became the custodian here at Redeemer in October 2015.  I have been a member of the church for nine years. I have lived in Rio for almost 12 years on a small farm with my husband and two son’s. We have chickens, rabbit’s, an old horse, a dog and a few cats. It has been a pleasure getting to know the member’s here at Redeemer over the year’s. I like to take photo’s, make cards, go on vacation’s and spend time with my family.

Gayle Krueger

Gayle has been the senior choir accompanist at Redeemer for several years and has also filled in occasionally as the musician for services.  She has played the piano for almost 60 years and, following retirement from her budget and policy analyst position in 2007, she started giving piano lessons to several area students.  She loves music and enjoys working with Redeemer’s very talented and dedicated choir.  She also loves reading and cross stitching and keeps active by doing lots of biking in the summer and going to the gym (ugh!) during the winter.

Gayle lives with her husband Tom between Rio and Poynette, and spending time with their family is their greatest joy.  They have three grown children and eight grandchildren, and most of their spare time is spent going to the grandkids’ sporting events, concerts and other school activities. They both enjoy traveling and have even done a couple of vacations with their entire clan.
